The Best of the Bunch: Our Favorite Projects of 2025

One of the most exciting times each new year is looking back on all we accomplished in the previous year and choosing our favorite projects. Each year it seems more difficult to do, as our work continues to evolve, grow, and reach new audiences. Let’s see what everyone has to say about what OC was up to in 2025!

Mine would be the houseplant mythbusting videos! They were so popular that their host, Heather, started getting recognized at conventions. “I have met so many new houseplant people because of those videos!” Heather said. “Thank you for committing the time to education. It’s making a difference with our customers.”

My favorite was also the houseplant mythbusters!

This project started with some simple footage of Heather from Proven Winners in front of a backdrop, reading the script from a teleprompter. I was given creative freedom to turn it into something that would appeal to the millennial/gen Z crowd on social media. So, after watching a bunch of plant related shorts and reels by other creators online, it was clear that lifestyle b-roll, text, and quick transitions were essential to grab attention online.

Instead of planning for a formal production to get the b-roll I needed, I did what any other “influencer” would do—I pulled out my iPhone to film in my own home. I filmed some shots with my own plants, got help from a friend who had more plants, and found some stock footage online for what remained. In post production, I played around with fun text and quick transitions to pull it all together. The 7-part series is now circulating online, and is receiving lots of views and positive feedback!

My favorite project from last year was probably the winter issue of Northern Now magazine. To be able to come in and give them a completely different experience than they had in the past and produce a better end product was amazing. Over the next few issues we’ll continue to get all of the kinks worked out and create an even smoother process. It just goes to show that our customer service and how much we care about the end product often exceed the norm.

I enjoyed the bus wraps Sophia designed for the City of DeKalb. These wraps were inspired by vintage train engines Sophia researched. What I liked most about this project was that the designer had full creative license from beginning to end. I’m proud to see these buses around town!

Check out the train bus design PDF.

Mine was the Stage Coach Players website! As a theatre person, it was awesome to be able to work on a theatre site. Not only were the contacts we worked with at SCP a delight, the SCP board ‘n folks let us have creative fun! We got to design a dark theme with a bold accent color. It was a satisfying build because the old site was very much in need of an update and we delivered. I’m really proud of this site. It really makes SCP look a lot more professional and active.

Second place goes to the Blain’s Farm and Fleet video Lumy (the black and white fluff ball) was in—also Jodie Forester (our new car) was in it!

My favorite project was also for Blain’s Farm and Fleet. They asked to use my GMC Sierra Truck to be in a shoot for an upcoming commercial. Look out for that in the future!

One of my favorite projects of 2025 was working on several videos for PrairieView Golf Club (We’re currently working on more for 2026!). My focus on this was to sell the course by showing its natural surroundings (the orange and yellow prairie grass against the green fairways looked great on camera), rolling contours, ponds with fountains, red barns, etc. The course was the star of the show, with golfers added to the shots for some action and perspective.

We utilized a drone camera for much of this production to capture as wide a perspective as we could, as oftentimes things off in the distance were as visually appealing as the foreground. The fact that we had a perfect day to film didn’t hurt either.

My favorite project was the DeKalb Farmers Market logo:

This was one of the more exciting and creative projects from 2025. I drew the font and veggies by hand, which is a skill I don’t always get to use. In the digital age we found ourselves in, I loved being able to create something so organic and natural!

My favorite project? It’s also Leslie’s redesign of the Farmer’s Market logo!
The colors—fresh and summery!
The font—playful and inviting!
The hidden icons—yum!

A close second was the photoshoot I did for Proven Winners at one of their content creator’s houses in Chicago. I was sent to photograph an example of vertical gardening, how lush you can get the plants in such a small space, and planters on rolling platforms to make it easier to move as needed. It was such a lovely time being outside, photographing plants, and meeting a wonderful gardener!

My favorite wasn’t a super complex project, but it was one that I had fun with. I got to put together some festive videos with some nice holiday scenery to show off leafjoy plants. They are short and sweet but also have some nice cozy vibes. These were a quick turnaround, so I’m also impressed with what I got out in that time!

We’ve only been able to share some stills from the video.

I would have to say that the Big Wheel assembly video we did last year has to be my favorite. This is most likely due to the fact that I got to put together two big wheels, and my inner child was having a blast. I always enjoy the videos where we get to see new products and help show them off for companies, and Schylling has some of the best.

My favorite project from 2025 wasn’t a single thing. It was all the little things we do to make our projects shine every day. From something as small as standardizing phone number formats or clearing up word choice in website copy to spending a few extra moments making sure our projects really reflect our brand, our clients, and our joy in creative pursuits, it’s the little things that set us apart. We’re proud of what we do around here, and even when they’re not our favorite projects, we give them the same love and attention we’re known for. I know, I know. It’s a saccharine-sweet non-answer, but I mean it.

What was your favorite favorite? From theatre websites to toy assembly videos, we’re always happy to get involved with our new favorite client! And, really, our favorite project is always the one we’re currently working on. If you’d like to end up on this list next year, get in touch and let’s get started on something special together!
