Summer Intern Update: Johnson Kwame Wor Comes Aboard

Published: May 28, 2025

We’ve found ourselves with a summer ahead of us that will be full of design work. From refreshed logos to new websites to working on some things of our own, our design department will be hopping. So for the first time in a few years, we found ourselves open to hiring a summer intern!

Leslie Latimer, our design director, is also a part of Northern Illinois University’s Network of Nations. She met Johnson Kwame Wor at one of the organizations meetings, and they bonded over their interest in design. He’s currently working on his PhD in art and design education at the college.

“I served as a graphic design lecturer at Takoradi Technical University, one of Ghana’s prominent institutions,” Johnson shares in his NIU Huskie Spotlight. “My deep love and passion for teaching in higher education, coupled with a strong desire to continue educating at an advanced level, drove me to pursue a doctoral degree in the field of art and design education.”

Johnson has studied the world of art and design for several years, and when Leslie told him we were looking for an intern, he decided that we’d be a good fit to give him some experience in a real life agency. And we’re happy for the help!

Hailing from Aveyime, Ghana, Johnson is a down-to-earth guy who loves helping others, learning new things, and cooking. With kindness and curiosity at his core, he fits right in with the rest of the OC team.

“At OC Creative, ‘teamwork’ isn’t a buzzword, it’s the secret sauce.” say Johnson. “As an intern, I’ve been amazed by how seamlessly strategy, creativity, and execution collide here, with every voice (yes, even mine!) adding value to the work”.

We love having your voice as part of the chorus, Johnson! Join us in welcoming him to the OC team for the summer!
