Leslie’s business card and portfolio really wowed us when she applied, as did her resume. We’re really glad she finally got back to us when we reached out to her, because she has been an incredible asset to the team ever since she walked in the door.
She interned with us for only 3 short months in 2019, May through July. Her original plan was to intern through at least August, but things sort of went awry for her internship when we hired her full time. She joined our design team, taking whatever work we threw her way, and now she’s OC’s Design Director.
When she’s not working in the office, she’s hanging out with her friends, tending to her plants, and traveling to national parks and local preserves to spend time in nature. Her love of the natural world shines through in the work she does, heading up projects for most of our major clients, including Proven Winners.
The thing that made her want to stay during her internship were the office shenanigans, whether chair races, snowball fights, or celebrating each other’s birthdays in the office. There was never a dull moment for her.
“I think the most important skills I learned are not often taught in school,” Lelsie shares, those being time management, client relations, collaboration, and managing tight project turnarounds. And all of those things transition to other areas of my life.”
We’re really glad she’s still with us, and not just because she’s a valuable addition to the team and a key player in our design work. She’s also just all-around awesome. Thanks for calling us back, Leslie!
